And I agree with that. However, SOG had much more talent/skill imo...only thing I believe Calzaghe had better of was hand speed.

I couldn't envision Joe C beating SOG....but I also couldn't picture Joe C beating Lacy, Hopkins, and RJJ either

lost to old ass b-hop who basically IS andre ward. a prime ward schools him IMO. CACzaghe is a legend but not facing the best and openly admitting that b hop and RJJ were better than him in their primes pretty much proves he shpould not bein the same discussion as ward.


i dont think some of you guys realize thar ward is just another level of fighter. this is like comparing mike tyson to a prime holmes or comparing oscar dela hoya to james toney.

If Calzaghe wasn't cherry picking we would have gotten a fight with Johnson, Taylor, Dawson, close to prime Roy, close to prime Hopkins...etc..

If Ward wasn't cherry picking we would have gotten a fight with Bute and Dawson at light heavyweight instead of zombie Dawson (not Ward's fault, but both sabotaged themselves)

See once you take off the stanning glasses and look objectively at these boxers, you'll notice that most of them do the same shyt.

Been watching boxing for 20+ years. All this shyt repeats itself. You either gonna use it to fuel your agenda or defend it.

Ward has all the tools in the world, but I need to see that against world class elites in their prime. So far his biggest win is a guy Joe already sonned. It's too early in Ward's career to even put him up against HOF's from the past, when he ain't even fight HOF from now.

I'm not gonna make a thread saying Golovkin can beat Hagler, when this nikka ain't even fight someone of Andy Lee's caliber yet.

mike will forever be an unknown if, woulda, coulda, and shoulda guy........

How exactly does Joe beat Ward? by outworking him? go look the avg stats of Ward's opponents and go look at what its like against Ward.

Is he going to beat Ward on the inside? Ward's left hook send that slappy shyt to the bushes, Ward is not a big puncher but he is VERY accurate, if 90 year old Roy and Bhop can drop him so can Ward.

Is he going to sharp shoot from the outside? Against one of the if not the best jab in boxing?

Joe outworked Hopkins.

Even if you give Hopkins that fight, it isn't like it was a Prime Calzaghe either. He turned pro in '93. Not really the best fight to gauge how a prime Calzaghe would do against Ward considering that.

I favor Ward, but really need to see more before I'm confident in that pick.
