He was a super producer. But was swizz better than Mannie Fresh real time with just hip hop beats? Hmmm...I think not.


Swizz sound got stale a couple years into his career until he expanded his sound and started to make R&B tracks.

Swizz was able to stay relevant for a good amount of time so you could put him over Irv Gotti. But Irv was better real time than Swizz once Murder Inc kicked off.

Growing up...Swizz was highly influential to me. At one point he was my favorite producer. He really one of them ones when it comes to Super Producers if we being for real. He's practically what that era was based on. Him, Timbo, and the Neptunes. When it comes to technical ability...i dont think he matches up with Dre, Timbo, Alchemist, Primo, or Dilla. But when it comes to impact, success, hits and having a distinct sound that really helped push the NY hip hop scene when it needed a sound...he's undeniable. Respect to Swizzie

Yeah just completely shifted the genre of hip hop with 808s and Heartbreak (its influence still being felt to this day on most mainstream hip hop projects)

You nikkas gotta stop with the revisionist history I know it’s cool to hate Kanye now and rightfully so

If you didn’t like the nikkas beats or music that’s cool but don’t act like he not one of the greatest producers hip hop has ever seen
