WHO SAID era's didnt change? i didnt. eras has changed before this new era of wack rap. you do know that right? eras have been changing since the late 70's early 80's when rap first hit. but there were some basica foundational things that remained true. one of them were dissing/battling. only now in this era have foundational things changed to this softy degree. where you need side silliness to pull people in. but again, thats because MOST of these rappers aint that good at their actual craft. so you're going in assuming you wont hear great bars. but you still want your money's worth. so you will opt for more drama outside of the booth.
whats going on now is the equivalent of you no longer thinking prime curry going up against prime bron is good enough. naw...you would rather hear a long 30 for 30 about them both to put a little extra on it. but that would make sense if bron and curry didnt exist in this era. so you had to settle for JR smith going up against jamal crawford. and thats the top tier.
Budden is a top lyrics who makes boring songs. I will never in my life understand how that's possible. The 6 fraud is probably out recruiting some fresh talent to write a response as we speak.
Thought I was the only one thinking this. Buddens went at Meek because he's an easy target and doesn't respect him. Just someone to destroy. Also a kind of backhanded thank you to Drake for allowing him to use him as bait for Jay. The shyt with Drake is nothing more than some "friendly" competition shyt for Buddens. He's using Drake's stature in the game to set him up to take on Jay. Buddens feels if he can even wound Drake in the eyes of the public Jay will be forced to pay attention to him. Buddens is actually attempting to weasel his way into the Jay/Drake cold war and gently nudge Drake out of the way.
Budden, I knew he still had it in him. His is dope and it's good to see someone doing it for the culture. Plenty of lines here that Drake or his writers aren't capable of.
