I hate to bring up old shyt because it makes some of y'all insecure but I lived through that Takeover era. Every line Jay-Z spit against Nas had pure venom in it. And the verse kept building on pre-established ideas that you pick up from Nas's music: Nas is smart-dumb, doesn't know himself, is a confused fraud who aint about his business, and sadly 'had a spark when he started but now he's just garbage'.

Budden's writing in that verse you posted is all over the place. He is literally throwing shyt at the wall and hoping something will stick. Mentioning a ton of shyt that doesn't really build on anything. Drake's a wave-hopper? Wow..... brilliant news Like we didn't know this already. If you're gonna go that angle, then show how Drake has been an unsuccessful wave-hopper. But you already know you can't because that's not real life. So mentioning it is stupid.

I'm surprised I have to explain such basic shyt on a rap forum. When you wanna ether someone, you have to ether that person's MUSIC first and foremost. Get to the core of what that person's music actually says about them. Then you can sprinkle in the he-say, she-say shyt to add onto your point.
