You said it was naive for people to believe he meant what he said.
I agree we don’t hold politicians accountable which is why they can overpromise and not deliver.
Which is a true statement as what else was he going to say to help win over voters? He couldn't keep it 100% honest and say that Congress is run with dark, corporate money or that he can't help unite Congress as that wouldn't rally voters or help his cause. He knew he couldn't do it, but when you're a politician you over promise knowing that you can't necessarily get it done.
It's why I'm always skeptical and don't trust shyt that a politician tells me at face value and never have. The only reason I'm even believing that he's going to do the 10K is because the student loan companies say that he is going to do it and they have no reason to lie about it.
