Serious question for yall... why do you think polticial activism went down for us? Why can't we demand accountability?
Why can't we be engaged like we were in the 50s-70s?
There's too many kids now that couldn't name you 1 modern black Civil rights leader or a House politican.
Hyperpartisanship and politics being treated like entertainment television. Gotcha moments being better than actual nuanced debate. Any issue gets treated like a yes or no question regardless of the context or surrounding history. Also, when you sensationalize *everything* then *everything* matters less.
Talking heads on TV literally telling people how to think, acting like pastors or brand spokesmen.
And to make it worse, if you say some shyt off the beaten path or established narratives you're ostracized immediately
Just the idea of waiting to see what Biden does after this is unfathomable
Because you don't make threads like this about Trump. Nobody is trying to get the republican party to treat us better.
Trump is
never getting my vote and no one should expect him to ever give a fukk about minorities.
Democrats have lauded themselves as THE representation, allies, and voice of blacks over and over again - so obviously people's focus will be on them. Why would anyone lose sleep over Trump when he's not riding for anyone but himself?
This "but the republicans" shyt is dumb bro. They're not in the equation. fukk em. The people who are asking for black votes are laughing in black faces while they do it. That is the problem. Don't just immediately capitulate to stick it to the Republicans. A soft, disingenuous platform of the democrats that leads to waning enthusiasm is exactly what they need to win. Supporting the alienation of voters is hustling backwards.
