you dont think they cant make a robot and have it weld or whatever
:to:
Until ai makes robots that can adjust plans on the fly and fit in all types of crawl spaces to get the job done blue collar work is relatively safe. I would be more concerned with white collar work. Why hire a bunch of fresh graduate paralegals, when AI can sift through all that reading and the partners up top can review.

I think AI will be regulated

Nobody gonna be able to buy those products and services if AI does everything.

I dunno, pretty sure horse breeders and carriage manufacturers were feeling pretty confident back in the day too

Take your life back. Star lt thinking about self sustaining lifestyle. Growing what you eat and reducing your expenditure as opposed to earning more to spend more on living.

A lot of people are going to lose meaning and purpose in this life if they could only find it in a job once jobs disappear.

Lot of people I know in the "professional class" like who work from home and coffee shops, and spend a lot of time on emails and zoom meetings

Not saying everyone or being disrespectful, but overhearing those kinds of meetings, being in a car with women on conference calls, those kinds of experiences, there is a lot of "fat" to be trimmed in those companies with AI, if they wanted to be ruthless.

I watched journalists and photogs get devastated when newspaper industry died. We are watching the film industry cost to scale for production about to plunge with AI tools and that industry will not pass on the savings. They will kill a lot of careers, hence the writers strike. Accounting will be affected. Manufacturing will be even more automated. Entry level jobs are already automated. Many companies are already using AI for chat support to cut down human phone support workforce etc etc.

If people don't learn to live on less and spend less it's going to be tough out there. Life as we know it is bout to be overhauled in our lifetime

not the same analogy

who's going to buy those products when majority are not working? Only the wealthy 1%?

exactly whose going to buy a car when you have nowhere to go cuz you don't have a job, whose going to travel when you can't afford a plane ticket cuz you dont have a job.

Either we will need UBI or we will go back to an agrarian society where all but the rich grow their own food.

It will be a complete reversal of the industrial revolution and the trends towards cities and factories

Stop falling for the fear mongering OKIE DOKE

Capitalism NEEDS human WORKERS.

Without jobs you are looking at a SOCIETAL BREAKDOWN.

They will NOT let this happen in mass.

Maybe that’s what they want to solve overpopulation. Too much fukking and less working.
Traditional economic growth and health of economy has always depended on producing and consuming more and more year after year, maybe we finally get off this hamster wheel
