I've basically always had a job since high school. Just jumped from one to the other, but never had a period where I didn't wake up on a Monday and have somewhere to go and earn money.

Well tonight I resigned from my job (I feel I was going to be terminated soon for poor performance). I wanted to go out on good terms and my own terms, even tho I know it means I wont be collecting unemployment.

I have a ton of experience, but no degree, which kind of worries me. I have a lot of friends who are always looking at hooking me up at their companies, but still it's scary being out there with no steady income. I have enough saved up to pay my mortgage/bills and stuff for several months, so I'm not worried about being out on the street, but hte way things are right now you never know :lupe:

Anyway just wanted to vent a little to my coli brehs. This has been weighing heavy on me the last few days. Anyone in a similar spot right now? :to:

I will tell ya'll right now, despite knowing how some of you feel about these people... but I had a job in law enforcement but I was in a training/probation period. I was not doing well, mainly because I was working in a city that I am unfamiliar with (but they hired me so its whatever). It was a crazy adjustment, in a big city, and I guess I wasn't ready. I resigned rather than risk being let go becuase if you are let go in a situation like that, its almost impossible to get hired by another agency. If you resign on your own it doesnt really look bad to the next employer.

what do you have "ton of experience" in? what was your line of work?

writing. despite whatever slang and shyt I use to type on here (usually from my phone), I spent about 7 years doing sports writing/marketing/pr type stuff. I used to be an assistant sports information director for a local college out here.

Times like these u really find out what u made of. Just brainstorm and grind it out you will be good. Ever since the economy went to shyt I've learned to live without cosy jobs by learning skills and trades and a nikka used to just work in finance with no knowledge of anything else. Now I can grind on my own time and keep a job too.
