Even if you overlook the hypocrisy and undertones of what he’s saying, purely from a narrative standpoint, if you take race out of it and it becomes just another “classic underdog story” then there’s nothing that makes it unique, and the fact that it’s just a rehash of DB,s Authority angle becomes even more apparent.
