So let's get this straight.....:

1) Dame puts on Dipset and crew

2) Jay dumps Dame basically because he put Dipset on Rocafella without his approval

3) Dame goes broke post Jay-Z

4) Dipset takin' licks at Dame now that he's at his lowest point?

:ehh: Sounds like a smart idea to me

I think Jay said once that Biggie inspired him to want to go multi-platinum. To have those incredibly huge records and the superstardom that accompanied them. He wanted to know what that felt like (his words). So I guess that's what he wanted from Big....how to make those records. Seems to reason that their friendship would have been shortlived once Jay dropped Hard Knock Life and skyrocketed his career while Biggie would have inevitably fallen off. I had to go :ohhh: when I read that chapter because it's true :ohhh: it's been his M.O for 20 years. He learns everything he can from you and once he feels he's conquered that skill set, you're dispensable.

Nikkas always want to stunt online, thinking they're cross-promoting when they're just mixing brands that shouldn't be mixed. Now people won't drink that wack azz shiit because they'll laugh about it being Jim Jones' struggle business but, if he just put it in corner stores and bodegas, people would buy it overtime. Dame Dash could have sold motor oil too, if he just took that gaudy azz DASH logo off, not announced he was a part of it but, just put it in auto stores and over time people would have bought it. Like why would anyone want to buy motor oil from a rapper? Why would you think that's a selling point?
Because the only thing proprietary about those products was the association to the owner. How can they compete in the soft drink or oil industry on an even playing field? They have to use what's left of their cache to sell their products. Dame would be better off just being a Franchisee at this point.

He should get down with an existing business and own like 20 KFC's or something because his name value is in the dirt.

I'm not even gonna pretend that I know anything about the motor oil industry or soft drink industry, and frankly, I don't care enough to look either. But Id bet that there have been several people who've built successful brands in either industry that had way less capital to work with than Damon Dash. The guy who started Vitamin Water did so with his personal savings, which couldn't have been much compared with a millionaire music executive, yet he built it into a billion dollar franchise. Why couldn't that have been Dame? He had the money. And as far as what I said, great products/services speak for themselves. You don't need to be all up in the video. Dr. Dre can put his name on headphones because it makes sense. His name strengthens the brand. But he'd look stupid making Tampons by Dre or Laxatives by Dre. That's what Damon Dash tries to do....on some bootleg Donald Trump shiit....I guess I can't talk too much because it worked for him before.

As far as you asking why he couldn't create a brand without putting his name on it he's done that. He's had a few clothing lines that didn't have his name on them and they flopped so that would explain why he would want to brand the oil company with his namesake.

Why is he talking all humble on this...but had no problem going at Flex hard body? :childplease:

People like Dame and Jimmy fail to realize their best asset is their ability to talk shyt.
The first thing they should have done is make a weekly Podcast.
How many cats involved in hip hop actually have a Podcast? I cant think of any.
They could use that platform to sell their struggle products...otherwise, nobody cares.

I would add NORE to that list...one of these funny old school cats could probably eat well by grinding out a Podcast and getting a following.

At 4 mins and 54 secs is where Dame Dash's bullshyt really caught up to him. Just that bit right there shows me dudes a snake and that's the last I need to hear from him.

Cam's 50/50 w/ Dame on the Dipset USA stuff which seems to be doing pretty well
also, he went in with Dame on a restaurant recently..he might keeping an eye on this or he's too busy basking in the glow of the tumblr generation putting money in his pockets to care at the minute.

Roc didn't sign jim, jim had to go independent

i remember Dame saying Jim asked for a mil to make his album on Rocafella.

the thought of Jim asking for mil to make an album on there while Juelz, the Young Gunz etc show money was basically coming out of their budgets for their albums is :russ:
