max was extremely popular. and by '09, he was indeed more popular than jim jones who dropped that weedplate album. max was the undergound king, and the only reason he was underground was because of the trial & jimmy's contract. and akon wouldve prolly paid jimmy off if max didnt get sent back to prison.
the difference between the max & cam situations is that max duked it out with zeek who is a tough-tony & also prolly twice his size. cam on the other hand, got punched & backed-down. granted, word was that tru's man was flashing his gun, but i also think cam is the type of dude that didnt want to risk his "image" by potentially losing a fight in public.

jones had his run already. a run that french will never come close to duplicating.
and french's album isnt going to do chit. hes like a no-talent snap/crunk/ringtone rapper that lives off of singles. and even worst, hes not from the south. hes from new york, and they dont buy chit.
french knows what hes doing so hes going to be around for a while. thats the most positive thing i can say about him.
yep. meanwhile, these dudes on here were more concerned with washed-up niccas like jay, nas & 50. thinking they were still the chit because they were the ones getting all the pub.
new york had max b. philly had meek millz. others were poppin too but these were THE ONES. meek shouldve been as big as he is YEARS AGO.
and max should be even bigger. dude has overseas fanbases despite making street music with no support from mainstream outlets.

his sloppy delivery added to his appeal actually. it was kinda like what made master p so popular. and then we saw his popularity take a lil dip when he cleaned it up on the technical side despite droppin heaters like "last don" & "crime family". i mean, those were huge too but not on the level of "ice cream man", "ghetto d", "tru 2 da game", etc.
jones had real chit. that raw chit. it was like f*ck the standard form of rapping. it dont even matter if i stay on beat, cuz this chit is just too powerful.
theres a large segment of people that prefer '02-04 jones over byrd gang jones. both incarnations of jones were a big success tho. he won either way.
because future cant rap. sure he has some good songs here n there but theres a wide gap between the 2 in terms of talent.
the better question is: how can you be a fan of future & not max?

I fukks with the wavey one's music more than Jim and Jim hasn't been shyt musically without Max. But why the fukk would Jim ever wanna talk to either one of them? I remember French and his crew throwing bottles while Jim was on stage then Max getting super personal and shytting on dude for like two years.
