There are storylines already in place.....you have to give these dudes some time to cook a narrative for them like they did Miro. Cole is just having random matches to up his record.
WWE booking trauma. When news like them having no plan for Bray/Orton despite them running it for 6+ months comes out, you can't be too surprised when people look askance at Adam Cole just...having matches, even when it's clear they're setting things up for him involving (off the top of my head): Jungle Boy, possibly Danielson, Kenny, The Bucks, Britt, and even possibly Tony fukking Schiavone. WWE fukks up potentially great angles too often for people to have faith in long-term booking apropos of nothing. Hangman, Miro, The Elite, Mox/Inner Circle, Mox's title reign as a whole, etc. can only stand so tall against 20 years of mostly awful booking decisions.
On topic, we would all be better off if we just ignored Cornette's lame gimmick. It's getting sad at this point.
