I gotta say I'm glad this isn't dropping. They would have ruined it and tarnished the first film. He needs to leave the comedy alone at this point in his career and get some dramatic roles.

How would it tarnish the first film? The classic moments would suddenly not be funny because a different movie sucked? Godfather 3 brings the enjoyment of the first 2 down?

A new Dumb & Dumber with Carrey would've been epic and good for his career. He's not good with regular comedy. he needs physical comedy-spoofs along with the jokes. Look at his career all the way from In Living Color.. he's the funniest when he's an over the top outlandish goof ball. That average Joe in situational comedic situations doesn't really work for him. never has..
