Sounds interesting, what say you x-bots? New hardware coming 2027.

If the info about Call of Duty is accurate [about it launching on the next gen Xbox in 2026], there is no devkit right now. So like the idea that developers have already gotten the next-gen Xbox's dev kit… that's just not accurate.
I mean the whole idea of the next Xbox is that it's gonna be a PC in essence but with a TV friendly shell that also has a specific set of specs in mind, so developers will be building for Windows PC in a way but in such a way that they know exactly what the specs will be. So maybe the Call of Duty rumor could be right but if it is, the dev kit talk is more about what kind of specs that they've been told to target for the next Xbox, not about having any dev kit.
But I'm pretty sure new hardware is not 2026, it's 2027.

:ehh:So they’re making a more powerful Steam Machine. Probably gonna be customizable, have other store fronts, and modder friendly.

Isn’t that just another way of saying console?
Depends on how modular the device is and how "open" the software is.

I've long thought that Microsoft should go the PC route. Thing is, they would need to sell these devices above the price to make and market because they'd probably lose out on services revenue if they allows stores fronts like Steam on the platform.

I think the console will be “traditional”.

But they will develop a “virtual xbox” that will turn any windows device into an xbox.

Hence the “this is an xbox” campaign.

I don told you years ago... Xbox Gamepass :hula: PC Gamepass.... both stream
So why stream an inferior version when you don't need a PC/Console to STREAM EITHER

So Gamepass would be how they merge the genres and then the Xbox would be in both spaces
Eventually, it'll just be known as a space to game :manny:

Been saying Xbox just wanted to recreate a Service like Sega had with Comcast back in the 90s
I been saying that for 15+yrs

And the cloud, its been in use and we don't think of it. They did promote it as stupid powerful and it is but the masses won't realize its potential until Kojima's game hits. Then everyone will be like "Oh, so we don't need physical anymore :ohhh:
This "new" console will land next fall by the way. With other versions dropping in 2027/really a new version every year by whoever wants to make em. The games themselves can be played via an app TODAY

I would be tempted. Dual OS or an xbox version of windows. Just let me get a PC that devs can optimize games for. Fewer devices, fewer cables, fewer headaches.
