The Siemien era

People are clowning the Siemien move, but he'll be light years better than Zach. He's no pro bowler, but if he can manage to do what he's done in his career (manage games, rarely turn the ball over etc) then we could still be a playoff team with this defense and run game.

1) Minnesota doesn't have to, but Kirk and his thoughts as their franchise QB will be considered, and I don't see him being with it. He's trying to change/write his own legacy and a 12 game rental to try to sneak the Jets into the playoffs and then walking to another team isn't in line with that.

2) Outside of that, the Vikings don't need to. They're only really competing with Detroit for the division, and even if they don't win it, they can make a playoff push in the NFC.

No, that does not mean Top 5. But he is beyond the "kick the tires" tier of QB who you wait and see on. Bringing him on is asking for an odd spring.

That’s a bridge you cross when you get to it… I just don’t think it’s wise to completely punt a season at 1-2, especially when we’ve seen teams make the playoffs recently at 1-5.

FWIW, Rodgers has zero equity built up with the Jets so if Cousins takes them on a carpet ride, maybe that’s the route you go down. I am not a capologist so I don’t know if that makes sense in terms of the cap, I do know Rodgers moved a lot of $$$ around so they might be on a big number next yeat that is not easily movable.

I think that Cousins is a really weird guy to evaluate. He’s definitely a top 10-12 QB just going off the counting stats but every time I sit down and watch the guy play a game I’m like wow, I really wouldn’t want him to be my team‘s QB.

That being said, the Jets would actually be a pretty good team if Cousins was their QB1 as they are currently playing an offense with no QB.

Kirk 100% makes the Jets a playoff team. Their offense has zero chance because no one respects the pass game which just nukes everything. The Jets CS is so scared that Wilson will turn the ball over they call the most conservative plays and do not threaten the opposing defense. New England was missing 3 DBs last week and the Jets had 68 yards total offense midway through the 4th quarter.

Forget Kirk, any competent starting level QB makes the Jets a playoff team.
