This show and its treatment of superheroes is what Agents of Shield should have been. Josh Whedon his brother and sister in law can't touch this show for treatment of subject matter or consistency of characterization.

Child Kilgrave being posed as if he were being raped in those science experiment videos was (as they say) an anvil that needed to be dropped.
Kilgrave saying he can't tell if people are obeying because he tells them too or because they want to has to do with what happened during those eight months. He apparently fell in love with Jessica because of her answers but she hates him because he didn't give her a choice.
So I'm thinking they were both right in that one scene. He took her all those places because her heart of hearts wanted them when he compelled her to tell the truth. She never wanted to go to those places... with him. Like she may like slinky dresses but that doesn't mean she wants him to buy her any or make her wear them for him.
I do wonder if part of Kilgrave didn't want to be punished, but he still needed to control his punishment. I don't know.

He's a decent Alice to her Luther (or Anzha to her Zatar, to mind-fukk it). Worth watching, even if her reasons for being with Luke are subliminally racist and bestial.
