When has Ryan Reynolds been nominated for an Oscar or any other legitimate acting award? Eisenberg's performance in The Social Network made a terribly dull subject matter somewhat compelling. He's at least shown he can act. Ryan Reynolds is a comedy actor who can be funny at times but he's never proven to be capable beyond that. Terrible comparison by you.

I was hoping to see Lex on some presidential shiit, kind of like President Logan from 24.

This is what i'm saying can you really see Michael Cera as someone who could run for office or become president or even someone who virtually owns Metropolis, guy has no swag or charm at all, he's not someone you like at face value, all the characters he plays are like this. He's always the fast talking, snarky dikkish overly nerdy type, that aint Lex . Lex is a man who built up Metropolis over the years from nothing through years of hard work, he's a "Superman" to the people, until Superman arrives, not some child prodigy with "issues".

He received some recognition and it has a very good RT score but nothing like The Social Network. Eisenberg was nominated at the Globes, BAFTA, SAG and by the Academy. He had to fall back to Colin Firth but he was in great company.

I think this can work. Let's be perfectly honest: comic nerds are programmed to whine about any movie casting. I see them patterning this after the Ozymandias-Dr. Manhattan dynamic while establishing the latent jealousy, resentment and fear that Luther has towards Supes. It can be a pretty good portrayal. If I were Eisenberg I'd bulk up just a little bit; nothing more than Tobey Maguire did for Spiderman.

Also, FWIW.. Goyer's script for the film is being rewritten by Chris Terrio who won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Argo.
