“cape” isn’t the best word…but he did do an apology tour with michael richards…on one late night talk show appearance, richards stayed in character and did a kramer bit much to the audience’s delight…seinfeld had to remind them it wasn’t funny…I wouldn’t say “cape” but he should’ve completely ostracized dude after condemning his comments…I get the feeling he was more so concerned about dude not fukking up their syndication money tho…so I kinda get why the poster feels a way about seinfeld’s “sincerity”
Reason he didn't is because they're friends. Most people don't abandon their friends over something like this, even if they don't fukk with what he said.

Someone please co-sign this but wasn’t there pictures or a video of Jerry in blackface floating around the internet? And the next thing you know, it was COMPLETELY scrubbed?

I’m talking about late 90s/early 2000s.. and then sometime around the social media era, it disappeared like nothing happened. I can’t be the only one who saw this because too many people can corroborate this.

are you sure it wasn’t sarah silverman?

they look alike

lol just kidding

the only incident I can recall of seinfeld having anything to do with blackface is an episode where kramer (ironically) was dating a black woman and he fell asleep in a tanning bed and showed up to her family’s house like this…but I don’t recall seinfeld himself doing blackface

dave ain't the one. he's not kyrie or kanye. he's smart, savvy, knows the history and will stand behind what he says. he quit a very lucrative show over his own values, not because someone was on his neck. they don't want a serious convo with dave because he sees how they operate when the lights go out and curtains close. dude is not who they want to come for. but it will be entertaining if they do.

I remember when Seinfeld was caping for Michael "Kramer" Richards after he called black people n****rs and boasted that his people used to hang us.

fukk what Seinfeld talking about

Facts.

The whole Seinfeld crew was about to get that bag for the DVD releases and there was no way Jerry was going to let Kramer botch all that money for them.

Man, I promise you. It was legit him from the 80s in blackface. I remember it clear as day. No one hardly made a big deal because blackface was pretty much acceptable during that era.

I just remember seeing it many times during the infancy of the internet. Next thing you know, its whole existence had been wiped out. I have never seen anything like that in my life.

I know I’m not the only one who saw this or it’s sudden disappearance.

I didn't recall the aftermath of this because it was so long ago.
But from this video anyway, Jerry Seinfeld didn't do anything that would lead to him being viewed as a racist. He stood by a friend who did a horrible thing and told him that it was a horrible thing. And michael seemed genuinely sorry and confused over what brought it out of him. Seinfeld also had Richards on in his Comedians Getting Coffee and Richards was still bothered by it, a decade later.

As a side note to this particular issue, there's one thing that I feel is a bit annoying here.
And that's this idea that when a person is angry, that the truth comes out. And I just don't believe that. I don't. I think when people are hurt and angry, they will tend to lash out in response with anything to hurt the one that is hurting them.

And so in this particular example, do I think Michael Richards is a racist? No. I don't. And I have zero doubt that many on this board will disagree or accuse me of defending Michael Richards as a racist. There is no defending what he did. There is NO DEFENDING WHAT HE DID. But I think people ought to have a bit more consideration into the context around a situation when regrettable things are done and said.

This board, every day it seems, is going down this hole of absolutes and polarization. Where is 1 person says the wrong thing, or does the wrong thing or believes the wrong thing, they are just labeled XYZ and cast aside. As if life and people aren't complex. Or people don't make mistakes. Or people can't evolve or change.

This post is not a direct response to the OP but I felt like speaking toward a broader issue and trend that I feel like is happening with a lot of people in the public eye.

What type of conversation is he alluding to?

Is it ADL master/serf conversation they like having cos in their warped minds, they’re the infallible untouchables that no one can critique or conversations that are mutually beneficial?

These people have put too much fear in a lot of black people despite being the most overrated people. If not cos of the alliance they have with the British monarchy thus using that to infiltrate the US & placing themselves in strategic positions to control money (which is worthless paper) & US military might - people would’ve put them in their place time ago.

Recently, Andrew Schultz said he’s gonna beat up Kyrie & now this crap.

Click bait article.

Jerry actually said:

““I did think the comedy was well-executed,” the 68-year-old comedian told the outlet. “But I think the subject matter calls for a conversation that I don’t think I’d want to have in this venue.”

“It provokes a conversation which hopefully is productive,” he continued when asked if the comments made him “uncomfortable.”

Think you’re thinking of Ted Danson.

So Jews are like the alphabets?

You can’t say anything about them but have no problem trying to get money out of blacks from entertainment and sports

"It provokes a conversation which hopefully is productive" sounds like nothing to me. :manny:

They're gonna talk, hopefully on his Netflix series if it's still a thing.

No. Ted Danson’s blackface was well known. It was never scrubbed from the internet. Howard Stern even did a “parody” of it. Whoopi lost a lot of respect for not checking her man for doing it.

I promise you, it was Jerry in blackface. One moment the pictures were there and then poof, completely scrubbed from internet history. shyt was spooky how you can no longer find a trace of it. Jerry wasn’t playing.
