If I remember Bret's autobiography correctly, Smith's a bullshytter, so he might just be exaggerating. If he isn't exaggerating though, Jerry might just be waiting to die. That's just too much time for the brain to be without oxygen.

Lesnar's situation in Canada had to do with him being in the wilderness and the only nearby hospital was pretty small and lacking in facilities. The same as it would be if it were located somewhere in some rural part of the U.S. That's the way it is anywhere: the best hospitals are in big cities.

Lawler is in a very well-equipped hospital in the city of Montreal. He's in good hands. If they can't save him, no one can.
