ALONGE HAWES INKS MARKETING DEAL WITH SEEKA.TV

Fresh off a big win at the Minnesota Webfest, Alonge Hawes has scored another victory: He’s signed an overall marketing deal with SeekaTV. The exclusive deal expands Hawes’s relationship with SeekaTV’s digital platform, which was an early distribution partner for his series Blue Collar Hustle. Under the pact, SeekaTV will become an exclusive home for the show’s second season, and Hawes will continue to write, executive produce, and star in the series.

The news comes on the heels of Hawes landing two nominations at the Minnesota Webfest, Best Drama and Best Representation Of Communities Of Color, of which the series took home the second. The series was also recently named an official selection at the 16th annual Urban Mediamakers Film Festival.

Atlanta' Breakout Stephen Glover Inks Overall Deal With FX

FX is expanding its relationship with Stephen Glover.

The cable network has signed an overall deal with the Atlanta writer-producer, who is the younger brother of the show's star Donald Glover.

The pact, which will see him develop projects for the cabler's sibling studio FX Productions for FX and other outlets, comes as he is readying an animated Deadpool TV series for FXX and Marvel.

“We can’t wait to build on the success Stephen’s achieved as a writer and producer.” FX president of original programming Eric Schrier said Wednesday in a statement. “We appreciate everything Stephen has done to makeAtlanta one of the best comedies on TV, taking an even bigger role with his brother Donald on the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool animated series, and now creating his own projects with the same uncompromising artistry.”

Glover won two WGA Awards for Atlanta's critically hailed first season, taking home the writing prize as well as the honor for outstanding comedy series. Atlanta's second season will air in 2018 on FX, with Deadpool slated to come to FXX next year as well.

Glover becomes the latest member of the Peabody-winning Atlanta team to sign an overall deal with producers FX Productions. Donald Glover also has an overall deal with FXP, with breakout writer Stefani Robinson also signing a development pact in October. That came as part of a meteoric rise for Robinson, who was merely an assistant at the Gersh Agency when she landed her staff writer position on Atlanta. Though she's quickly added other credits, Atlanta was her first formal writing job.

Glover is repped by WME and Lev Ginsburg.
