The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
He was immature, and teams were better WITHOUT him. Giants AND Saints won rings with him on the roster but not playing/inactive.

He caught a touchdown in the Saints Super Bowl, but you're right on the Giants. He could barely stay healthy by then.

Yeah, I was wrong about him not playing for the Saints ring. My point wasn't about his injuries, it was that even with a lesser player in his slot, the Giants were a better team during that run. He was a headcase.

Bullshyt sports media narrative even back then. The whole team were headcases and Coughlin was an old school disciplinarian in the middle of being changed by a veteran team who could win without his bullshyt.

That team won in 2007 because Coughlin changed his approach (letting Strahan play all year without practicing etc) not because a productive TE didn't play. Which btw he played basically all season and missed only the playoffs.

Shockey was a dikkhead, he got a pass for things that other star players were villified for. His penalties for celebrations/taunting were excused because "he showed passion", calling out coaches and other dumb ass comments were excused.
Look up the way he moved after he was out, and the team progressed in the playoffs that year, and you will see that the locker room and player morale improved without him.
Addition, by subtraction.

And who were the other "headcases"?
