Who am I "hating" on?

I guess the idea that Girardi made a "genius" decision :manny:

Obviously it worked...but that's not really the right way to judge a decision imo.

:what:

:usure:

So Girardi makes a gut decision, a type of decision that many a manager has made, that results in the Yankees winning a playoff game, yet you say that wasn't the right way to make a decision. Please O wise, infinite one, please do tell us what's the right way to make a decision. :beli:

edit: I misread your post. You're saying that's not the right way to JUDGE a decision?? What other way is there to judge a decision in sports??

HAHAHAHAHAAH, holy shyt....ridiculousness on so many levels.

I'll just say these three things.

1. If you go all-in with 2-7 preflop and win the pot....it doesn't mean you made a smart decision.

2. Ibanez hit .197/.246/.246 with ZERO HR off lefties this year. :heh:

3. In response to that, "he's been clutch this year" nonsense.... this

But holy shyt...baseball >

Raul Ibanez had an 84 wRC+ in low leverage situations this year, 151 wRC+ in high leverage situations

Judging a decision on results is problematic.

The process is more important than the results....out of context obviously. In a game, the outcome is obviously far more important.

Like I said...think about something similar in poker.

You've got 2-7....and go all-in on a "hunch" or a "gut feeling"....if it works and you win, that doesn't mean it was the right decision.

I mean, this isn't really the right forum for this debate....but it is what it is :manny:

Yeah, I saw that....

In 2011 his wRC+ in high leverage situations was 0
In 2010 it was 69

So....did he work on his clutch this offseason?

No one gives a flying a fukk about what he did last year. All we know is that this year he has come through in the clutch when the team needed it the most.

Well sure....but the idea that he's going to KEEP coming up clutch requires you to believe in something that isn't there.

Kobe on the Yankees finish: "I don't like that. That's not good for the chemistry of the team. I'm going to have to call A-Rod."

Someone throw Boli's phone in the east river

I know this nikka Kobe and his childish ways, He doesn't want the GAWD Sanderson to get 6 before he does.

How in the world is this relevant? Ibanez was brought in to pinch hit against a righty, closer Jim Johnson. The at bat against the lefty, Matusz, was his second plate appearance.

Girardi didn't go all in with 2-7. he was sitting on J-6 off... but had Aces up his sleeve. :lawd:
