This worth da cop from Apple Music ?
This shyt weak to keep it 100
This is all facts.. jeezy stuck.. he wants to grow but ppl steadily talking bout need that old jeezy.. he needs get on his jay shyt and say well buy my old albums lol.. granted I didn't even listen to that church shyt he was doing or w.e ..Jeezy fan since 2005.....This is pretty uninspired, Jeezy does this thing from time to time where he tries to recapture those 05 days, which is what some of his 'fans', (misguidedly) wish for.....The songs end up sounding mostly forced. My major criticism is there is no sense of urgency, no real theme, besides a general attempt to return to those 101 track... The beats sound really similar, and aren't good, plodding and monotonous, Jeezy's lyrics are kinda drowned out, but they aren't really compelling or sharp, for the most part.
My sense is that Jeezy himself is really over this kind of music, but is trying to convince himself and his fans otherwise. He sounds much more at home over some of the standouts from 'Seen It All', and even songs like 'Forgive Me' from 'Church In These Streets'. I liked 'Recipe', and maybe 2 or 3 others stood out, 'Like That' is cool, 'In The Air' is ok, for that kind of title, it kinda doesn't deliver as an intro, in comparison to 'Introduction' (TOD 2) or 'The Real Is Back....A dope beat and hook by Chris Brown on 'Pretty Diamonds' are wasted on a cliched, tired track about diamonds and women, some sort of loose parallel, that rap and Jeezy should have left behind a long time ago.
I don't see the need for this album.....Jeezy made a big point of comparing himself to new trap rappers, but he doesn't really offer much of substance on here, there are few personal stories, few parables, little advice, beyond the obvious Jeezy tropes.....I've never been much of Meek fan, and granted he is like 10 years younger, but his new project has a kind of urgency to it that Jeezy lacks, he has something to prove, things he wants to say. TOD 3 is a retread, of I think, a concept that should have been left behind nearly a decade ago. I'll always fukk with Jeezy, but I have to call this one, it's easily a C level project.
Hell nah this nowhere near any of those.. this just like a lil mixtape to me...So its not up there with TM101, the recession or inspiration??? Im debating whether to buy this.
