Who said anything about an ulterior motive? What kind of backwards thinking is this … why would you need someone to do right by you or the money. It’s the principal. Have them sign contracts when the money is given if that’s a concern of yours. For me, once I give it then that’s it - if you waste it that’s on you.

I just know If i was a billionaire, any family or friends or associates whose lifestyle i would fund would already be well taken care of. I dont like to eat alone when those i love, those who love me plates are empty. If all i got is a sandwich, then WE got half a sandwich.
But if i got billions with endless prospects for more billions, and u even gotta ask me, then there is probably a good reason u gotta ask in the first place.

It's okay for them to ask. Hell at some point in Jay's life he had to ask for help.

Sorry breh but you didn't understand my statement. Rich folks want to see money multiple. The last thing they want to see is people burning it and repeating the process. There are people who ask for money to start a business, but don't have what it takes to maintain it. As for signing a contract, there are countless people who co-sign on loans for people and later regret it.

As a leader family or not, I’ll put folks on financial literacy. Recommend them books on investing, stock trading and flipping profits. Teach them how to hustle with side hustles and gigs for passive income. Work that economic muscle juu heard.
Tell them discipline is the route to saving money and living your means won’t end up like that situation they’re in.

Absolutely. Family, not just asking/needing money for bills/food but asking for co-signs for cars and apts, those Black ppl from immigrant families sending money and care packages back home. The shyt is serious. I’ve personally paid graduation fees for high school and college, bought groceries and paid rent for extended periods of time for family. It’s just not something that every family members can get from me though. And with me no means no. No exceptions.Anybody with money, especially if you're Black. I encourage Black folk to look up Black Tax, I'm including some reading on it for anyone interested.

Always something around the house or whatever i could always use a hand with.
Some might say the lesson is to teach the value of a dollar. But i dont buy that. The value of a dollar is basically whatever we decide it is, through what we willing to do for it vs how we willing to spend it. And i dont wanna set any undue standards, or make my youngins feel obligated(or complacent) to bust they ass for less than what some a$$hole with connections is getting just to exist.
The real lesson is a simple but valuable fact of life that will take u just as far, and beyond if u play ur cards right: that one hand washes the other. Society has always achieved its highest standard of living through cooperation. Everybody plays their part, and aint no role too big or small. The machine dont function no better without the smallest gear as it does the entire engine.
And there is a reason we are programmed to compete against each other and look out for number 1 by the very people who wouldnt have made it to where they are without coordinated cooperation.
And we just witnessed not two days ago how fast that bootstraps talk flies right out the window when it needs to.
