The point is that black ownership in Atlanta doesn't come anywhere close to representing the black percentage of Atlanta's population. Blacks make up over 60% of the population but don't own anywhere near 60% of Atlanta's businesses, proving that they aren't practicing the group economics that you claim they are.

I believe in supporting black businesses/etc but to play devils advocate
1.) there are some people who believe in stunting and flexing their success over others. They start making money/experiencing success and decide to show their ass. Their instagram captions get more pointy and in some cases condescending. Then when the success starts to slow down, they complain about black people not supporting them...even though they pissed half their potential supporters off previously.
2.) an entitlement to other black people's money. A lot of black owned businesses don't really try to appeal or advertise to black people. They don't make any effort to put their product in our face or inform us why their product is worth the usually "above market value" price. They just have this expectation that black people have to spend their (sometimes limited) funds on their organization/product. When tinashe complained about black people not supporting her music was the perfect example. I've never really seen her take a picture with a black person, or go out of her way to collab with a black person. Even her music (pop) is tailored more towards the white demographic.
Those are the two main things that come to mind. Like I said, I believe in supporting black people as they reach their dreams. It would be irresponsible not to mention some shortcoming though

We'd need to find out more numbers. I'd be interested in knowing, of that 60%, what percentage has the income to sustain a business as it relates to the actual percentage of black business ownership. Like if all the white businesses are owned by the top 20% of whites in the city with an income of $xxxxxx, what is the relative income and percentage of black ownership likewise. I think that would be the numbers to base a real argument off of.
Why do you cats like bending over backwards to deflect from the obvious. Do you really need a comprehensive stat based breakdown of Atlanta economics to come to the obvious realization that blacks in Atlanta aren't practicing group economics on any kind of grand scale?

That's how it's supppse to be..company CEO's shouldn't be out front trying to be the stars - you see that ever now and then (papa john's) and it's usually AFTER they've become CEOS and the brand is successful
