My favorite part is all the jokes about jay owning 3% of a billion dollar organization (The nets).
I'm like take 30 seconds and do the math on that.

The collective earnings of everyone with jokes in this thread together won't equal that 30mm+ he cashed out when he sold his minority shares of the nets.

Also he recently divested himself from some of his biggest holdings (Tidal, etc).
I think from those deals in the last two years he cleared close to a billion cash, I figured he was going to try make a big move in the near future, even if this doesn't play out.

Yeah he got big money but not enough to get into that group especially if Bezos can purchase the team outright like its a backyard project

TYRONE GA!
:mjlol:

People pocket watching Jay-Z like they know what he has in his bank account.

Brotha is making move's I'll never even come close to doing.

With that said, it doesn't make sense because the Sports side of Roc Nation hasn't even maxed out yet and he'd have to sell that.

don't even think it's pocket watching. He don't have that kind of bread to be a majority owner. Even liquidating his assets and shyt.

you gotta have SERIOUS bread nowadays to get an NFL Team. Bidding probably STARTS at 2.5 billion even for the Bengals b. :to:

No but he at least has enough to be part of a group.

Jordan bought the Bobcats at a bargain because of the situation, plus this was when teams were being sold for a lot less than now, plus David Stern and the NBA in general WANTED Jordan to own a team.

Buying these teams is a lot less about having the money to buy it (in the sense that there are more people who want and can afford to buy a sports team than there actually are sports teams) and more about if the leagues want you to be an owner.

Aight cool. Then say that. Dont say Jay don’t got the bread. Two people just brought the Timberwolves for a $1.5 billion. In installments. I know Jay could partner with 1-2 guys and buy a team if he desperately wanted one. It’s moreso politics at this point like you said.
