Jerry West actually scouted Klay Thompson personally and was only brung in to be an adviser for our roster. He got what Jay got in terms of ownership just to do that. Actually they say on Bay Area sports radio he got 1% of the team just for his expertise on how to build a championship team. Your off base, West knows more about building a roster than Myers does and Myers leans on West for advice on how to do it.
At the end of the day, West is a consultant, not general manager. You're giving him a bigger role than what he actually has. The final decision doesn't go down with him. He just makes suggestions to the GM, suggestions they obviously value. If shyt goes south, Warriors fans aren't gonna ask for West's head on a platter. Why? His role isn't as big as the GM even if you wanna believe otherwise. His role on the Warriors isn't the same as his roles in Memphis and LA.
