I bet you many of them would reconsider a lot of what they were doing, this is what showcase events are for on the underground circuit - it's not so much to just perform your music but if you're doing it right you can gauge the reception of your music amongst avid fans of the genre. A good performing artist should be able to read the crowd line by a line - a lesser artist will be up there with his eyes closed . . or rolled into the back of his head as he looks up at the ceiling
