State Property was just a rent-a-crew for Jay. At that time in rap every rapper had a crew, Jay didn’t have a solid crew so he used SP. I always thought it was a bit strange a BK dude had a Philly crew instead of a BK crew. I didn’t complain cause they was dope, but I did think it was a bit strange.

but yeah Jay is one of the greats no question, but his biting really puts a dint in his legacy for me because a lot of his career he was just hopping on someone else’s style rather than creating his own lane. It worked and his success shows it might have been the right choice financially, but as an innovator or a creator he doesn’t rate that high

Breh Dame biggs and jay signed them

Why is it when things was good it was all Dame

But when these guys fukk up Dame and biggs was not in the room

Like that story about jay paid the young guns 600 dollars....where was Dame he set up the tour

He was the man for that

Its really strange it was all one guy fault

No one did nothing wrong....no one?

Jay should have let Beans go when he initially wanted to, Beans at least earned that.

Tell me what beans did to earn that?

I really want to know

Who signed him

Who set up features for him

Who paid for thr videos

Who got him to hot 97 to spit and other radio stations

Who bailed him out of jail

Who took him on his first tours

Where did that money and resources come from

So you think its cool to just let him out a contact he never recouped

To go to 50 cent who's main reason to have him os to go at thr very people that got him in the game

:russ:

Look at both sides of this and be honest

Would be nice for Jay to look out sure

But if you can't see why he won't you can't be objective

Dude, I know that. Not sure what point you’re trying to make. I know Dame is slimey as hell. The way he did Ol Dirty will never sit right with me.

but I’m not sure what that has to do with Jay using SP as his rent-a-crew during the beef and then kicking them to the curb after he got back from retirement. Of course Dame and Biggs is equally responsible on the business side, but they wasn’t rolling around with SP like Jay was. They were always clear that Dame and Biggs was about business

But Jay had them dudes thinking they was la familia. He took young dudes from the street who lives by a certain code and he played them out. They say business never personal right? But Jay played the role of big homie with these dudes, not boss. You refer to someone as your big homie, you expect them to have your back through thick and thin. You expect to be able to call me up at any time and have a convo. You don’t expect your big homie to act like he don’t know you

Beans himself said jay was never around

He said that alot

All of state prop said it

Dipset said it

How was he around but not around

Choke even said it

When they was doing roc radio with dame said they could not get Jay on it

You know im right

They said the only time they seen him was on tour and he was separate back then

They don't want his friendship they want access

They all say he a snake and he foul but they stay want "conversations"

Why would they want to be around and talk to the "devil"

Keep it a buck you know why

People loved to pop shyt about Jaz-O being bitter and Jay being the GOAT, this, that, and the third.

Bottom line is that at the height of their beef, Jaz-O completely roasted this n*gga on the mic with two of the best diss songs I've ever heard and Jay wanted NO SMOKE.

People bring up Jay on Hot 97 after hearing Ether. Shyt, I wish I could hear again State Property on Power 99 again after Cosmic Kev played them the "Nothin" freestyle for the first time. They sounded like they just got hit by a freight train.
Yep:mjlol:

Jay-Z jacked Jaz-O sttyle in the 80s
Hov then stole Fu Schnickens flow in the early 90s
Mid to late 90s Nas gave him a style to run with
After Biggie died, Jay tried to become Big
Young Chris comes along n is totally shang tsung'd by Jigga (early 00s)

2003 - Jigga retires

Late 00s comes back, flops, jumps on Kanyes dikk

:scusthov:'s story mane
Never forget that Jay also stole Sonny Cheeba’s flow (Camp Lo) on Reasonable Doubt.

The chronology of Jay being a jealous dikkrider is pretty disappointing.

He didn’t earn anything. He signed a contract and didn’t want honor to it. Jay gave him his release within a year. So after dissing jay and wanting to leave in 2008-2009. Its now 2021. 13 years later now u want to be buddy buddy again just because u made some raps with him 15 years ago lol. Beans even begged 50 for bread in the same video lol

beans is a washed loser that wasted his potential

Tell me what beans did to earn that?

What did Beans do to earn it?:what:

He was Jay's muscle/hired gun and took on the guys that had smoke. If it wasnt for Jay thinking Nas was:flabbynsick: and a easy touch Jay would have ducked him too. He had already tried sending the goons and they got :dead:. By then it was too late for Jay to duck tho

But think about it - when it was all good, we know that Dame was the one fighting for his artists, including Jay, for every red cent. We know Dame was the one behind the SP movies, getting them in magazines, and such. We also know that Dame was taking most of the money from their deals, and paying them whatever endorsement checks they got. We also know that Jay was the flagship artist, and clearly using them for publicity, inspiration, style, staying in tune with the streets, and to stay a float during the hard times, while at the same time making his exit strategy.

Jay from the era where beefs got physical easily. They could've died from this. Hell, peoples died from beefs they were involved in.

When Beans wanted to go, Jay should've just let him go. Let him walk, mind you at this time he's under DJ, and there is no more Roc. You block the deal cause you mad at 50 though. Name you price, and let him go. Same with Free. Name your price, and let Free go. Free wasn't in any trouble...hard worker. Why stop him from eating, and you don't even have a place for him? Cause you don't want 50 to catch more fire. Whatever trouble Beans gets in next, is no longer your concern. I think that's more the issue than anything. Why keep Chris on a shelf? You already hijacked his flow. Let him get whatever money he can. O, Sparks, Neef were never gonna be higher than Freeky Zeeky status, even though O is very charismatic...but O is loyal to Dame, and still very close...but Dame is blackballed from the industry.

If you won't help them, fine, but don't also block them. But I think O is moreso saying that he shouldn't act like they were never anything...when they were on the frontlines for him.

Firstly, dude stop spacing every sentence out, just use paragraphs like a regular person, this ain’t Twitter.

Second, Jay used them when convenient, especially Beans. He had them dudes thinking they was on, when reality Jay was on, and they was just hired help. SP wasn’t even really a crew, they became a crew for Rocafella. He had them thinking like this was something to ride for. They have the artist think they are a family, not just artists in a label. And when the boss is also a rapper it makes them think “he is one of us, we in this together”. He stood next to them like he was really their big homie. The rapper run labels always have this problem. They project the image that its deeper than just business.
