In 2020 I think it's impossible for any artist to pay back $12 Ms in 100 years.
It's so hard just to stack $2 million.
Artists go platinum, if all the sales were on Tidal, Tidal would pay out 18 bucks per equivalent sale, that is 18 million bucks on a platinum album to the owners of the music (that is artists, song-writers, label, management, publishing company etc.).
Spotify about 6 million and Apple about 10-12 million.
So a lot of artists could recoup that, specially if they are on a 360.

Streaming is like .0084 most per song.
That's one cent paid to the artist for one whole album stream.

It's a tiered system. Higher amount of equiv sales/streams, higher amount per album.
It's always different depending on which period you look at and the artist releasing data

One equivalent sale is 1500 streams of a song, 1500 * $0.012 is $18.
Now artists that go platinum are artists like Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Post Malone, Drake, Cardi and on. Some of which double platinum and more, think Drake went 5 or 6x.
