I disagree. I think Jay’s peak was 1996 and he never got better. He didn’t get worse until post retirement but he never got better imo.
This is a fair argument. But I cud argue Vol. 2 Jay had a better flow. Lyrics may not have been as potent but not far behind RD.
Still...if u hear early Kane, Nas and Redman, they sound on par with their first album. Pre RD Jay was like a 3 then he became 4.5 in a flash. Only other person I see do that was GFK.
