They did exactly what they should've done and that's to take advantage of pigskins and take their money. REAL Gods and Earths know that whites are to be used and tossed aside

1.) I agree with you. I was just questioning if it was more calculated or natural growth over time.

They def waited to be so at the safest times in their careers. That Beyoncé quote is terrible. But what do you expect from a women who never mentioned her blackness till late in her career and fashioned blonde weaves.

this is the coli....you know EXACTLY what this thread will produce....

a spin of this thread gets made 3 times a week

:stopitslime:Bruh, I'm not "thecoli". I'm one person asking others their thoughts. I could have called the thread "Jay and B be on some fraudulent shyt.."

Damn ya'll sensitive. Actually last night I finished reading Stamped by Ibram Kendi and I found it interesting how he talked about WE B Dubois' views changing over the course of his life. Then I was listening to Jay earlier and boom ...thread idea.

Meh, Latina is not a race...No one is born woke. And no one is perfect

Ppl grow

They were marching with the Trayvon Martin's fam back in 2013 I believe, bailing out protesters

Before that Jay set up a trust fund for Sean Bells kids in 2008

Bey and Jay with Will Smith produced a musical about afro beatz pioneer Fela Kuti in 2009. Bey was suppose to do a Fela Kuti inspired album as well but that got scrapped

PHOTO CALL: Jay-Z, Will Smith, Beyonce and More Celebrate Fela! | Playbill

Beyoncé donated her entire salary from the film 'Cadillac Records' to charity.... - Capital XTRA

Dont believe its solely them just riding a wave....

Do you think their recent (last 5 years or so) wokeness or pro blackness is just them growing as people over time and coming into their own personally; therefore, it's starting to spill into their art? I mean Nas, Lupe, Cube were that from day one. But people grow and change right (see Malcolm).

Or do it think they're doing it because it's trendy? It's in now and Jay in particular has been in on every trend since 96.
they strive to be like Barrack and Michelle Obama

She has done some problematic shyt

But for the most part she's embraced her blackness since DC

Has always given to blk causes and hired blk creatives most importantly

Always given props and paid homage to the blk women artist who inspired her and opened doors for her like Tina Turner, Nina Simone, Josephine Baker in her shows

Remember the Time Beyoncé Tributed Josephine Baker on National Television?

She has performed at the BET awards more than any other artist...

Have you actually followed her career very closely?

They wouldn’t be on this wave unless it was safe to do so.

Safe? I dunno about that

Beyonce especially has "alienated" a lot of her non blk fans

Ever since Lemonade and maybe even since around the time she was campaigning for Obama, Bey has been shut out of top 40/pop radio, sales declined

Does Pop Radio Have a Problem with Beyonce?

With her new Black is King movie she been getting a lot of hate from white folk

I especially respect her for backing and pushing Chloe and Halle. They signed to her label. Two young, unambiguously black women with locs. Dont believe many, if any other major labels wouldve worked with them given their look
