True Growth or Trend for them?
They went from this most of the time...
B wishing she was born Latina :
Beyonce: "I'm Just Jealous That I Wasn't Born Latina"
To this most of the time:
Do you think their recent (last 5 years or so) wokeness or pro blackness is just them growing as people over time and coming into their own personally; therefore, it's starting to spill into their art? I mean Nas, Lupe, Cube were that from day one. But people grow and change right (see Malcolm).
Or do it think they're doing it because it's trendy? It's in now and Jay in particular has been in on every trend since 96.
