I think the sample on "Marcy Me" is the same as "Back When", haha Jay went over two samples Nas has previously used......This one even has a similar concept, no shots, I just had to figure that one out.

Nas can't even dream of having an album entirely done by NO ID. He'll stick to salaam remi's underwhelming production for the umpteenth time instead.

If Nas released an album with these same beats, there'd be a separate thread on why he didn't call up Premo, Large Professor, and Pete Rock to restore the feeling.

In all honesty, the production on this album takes a back seat to the lyrics and content. On their own, there isn't much particularly crazy. It works because it allows Jay to do something that he hasn't done consistently since American Gangster which is showcasing the witty, thoughtful, introspective Jay vs. The insecure, trendy, business as usual Jay.

:ohlawd:The entire album is incredible. On my 4th listen right now. Mature Jay brought some heat.
I'm glad he kept it hip hop and didn't try to do any of that cross over experimental stuff he's was trying.
No trap music, just hip hop. This is what I've been waiting on from Jay.

If nas released an album with these same beats it would easily be on of his best produced albums.
