I'm going to be 40 years old next month. Still behave the same way i did when i was 16.
Never held me back in the slightest. i'm educated, successful, and doing just fine. Never felt like you earned any extra points "acting grown"
Still love my video games, still smoke weed, still got the same hobbies and interests. Stil have a great relationship with my family, still a great dad to my daughter.

The whole maturity thing is just for its own sake. If you feel better about yourself because you very mature, wizened and gentlemanly in your disposition ,that's great. but its not a secret to any sort of success or anything. Plenty of people more mature than me struggling out there. Maturity isn't going to save them.

Mature and Responsible aren't the same thing.
Being Mature and having a drive to be successful aren't the same thing.

Not good examples based on the video

The Truth
Didn’t see how any of this had anything to do with LeBron, but he is not incorrect.

The LeBron/Stephen A. shyt is just you reaching

Only problem is when he kept repeating “...I put away childish things”. I always had an issue with that saying because people misinterpret it (he did say something like that though).

Most people try to use that saying against videogames or games in general when it actually means for you to stop thinking and acting like a fukking child and handle your responsibilities. To stop being immature because you have people to look after and can’t afford to be immature.

For some reason people used this against gaming, women specifically. Everyone plays or watches games… football, basketball, boxing, chess, pool, spades, solitaire, etc.. all games you watch or play. Videogames are no different

i feel you. i feel the same way... like i became who i am now around 15 or so. i'm still that person, but im (a little) smarter, more responsible. i have more empathy too. but at the same time... if somebody farts im gonna laugh. maturity is a good thing but too many people cling to it and they lose all the fun and flavor of life. especially men. i know so many humorless men in their 30s who might as well be dead. i know life is rough but man try to find some joy once in a while, you know

i hate the shyt people my age are teaching young men and little boys. it breaks my heart to think of young men looking up shyt like andrew tate and thinking thats what a real man is. a real man provides and protects. he helps the weak because he is strong. no real alpha male needs to say hes one. he just is one.

As usual they attempt to manipulate with words and apply it to whatever it is the trying to shame you on instead of what it was meant for.

What do you mean by the bolded?

:jbhmm:

You act the exact same? No improvement? No changes? No growth? No refinement?

Maturity by its definition is refinement, it's mental and process improvement, it's discipline, it's increase capacity and capability.

If you haven't improved in any of those areas since you were 16 (which you may have) then youve wasted 25 years of time increase capacity and capability to be even better than you are right now.

I see 40+ men less mature than I was at 16 and it's part of the reason out community is in the mess it's in. You cant mentor a 16 year old young man when you act like him. It gives him nothing to aspire to if youre an older, slower, potentially out of touch version of him with nothing to give back.
At a certain point who determines what maturity is tho?

Breh already said he takes care of his responsibilities and has a great relationship with his children. Despite all of that you still cherry picked his post :russ: What more is there?

He essentially said (based on my understanding) that maturity doesn't really matter and he acts the same way he did at 16.

I asked for clarity on so I can understand better because it reads more like mentally stagnation (acting the same way over 25 years).

That's not cherry picking that is seeking to understand.

But again in the very same post he says he takes care of adult responsibilities and has a great relationship with his children :manny: Outside of that what are we talking about?

My point is most of the metrics for maturity are made up and based on empty projections. Most people ain't as generally mature as is assumed.  Most people don't significantly mature past 16-20 to be honest. That's why the workforce, full of grown ass people, functions just like high school :pachaha:

If you can live on your own you’re a man.

Look at the “men” who got our country in shambles right now.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
basically the world and society has changed. Each generation's transition was gradual. Going from the 60's - 70's into the 80's and 90's. But Gen X going from the 80's, 90's and 2000's into the 2010's and 2020's is like 2 different worlds. The technology, the lingo, the economy, everything is different.
And some adapt by moving backwards mentally in an attempt to keep up. :manny:
If you don't have a solid foundation, it doesn't take much to fall into trends/new waves.
