This is probably one of my favorite tidbits from that Deadspin article. I already knew Whitlock was full of himself but when he sent out those 16 inspirational quotes from famous figures to his staff and half of them were from him I knew the Undefeated was doomed.:heh:

That type of self serving egotism will always make for good reading.this 'black Grantland' has some of the most hilarious behind the scenes clashing of egos. Whitlock should never be charge of anything involving a team of people, it's blatantly obvious he has terrible people skills or is a sociopath of the highest order.

Whitlock still has "Editor-in-chief ESPN's TheUndefeated.com" on his twitter bio. He might be in denial or just lazy.

It was Friday. You'd want to avoid getting that happy hour bbq sauce all over your dell.

People glossed over them deadspin pieces, but while his writing and views are subjective, his ability or lack thereof not only dealing w/, but managing personalities was sh!t. In fatlock terms he walked in the office w/ a tech-9 on day one tryna be Omar, but got shot down in the process

Dawg... I just read one of the articles by Greg Howard and as bad as the c00nin' was, what was equally bad was some of the content and the lack of forward thinking by him and Leon Carter. So I want to know how do they plan to go forward with Carter when he thinks along the same lines as Whitlock? That website is fukked.

You can probably blame Fatlock for it he was like the Chairman Mao of editors

How could a guy with so little effect on change assume he's as powerful as he thinks he is?

in an ideal world, what would your imagining of The Undefeated look like? Who would be the ideal editor in chief, in whose image it was based? Ralph WIley would have been perfect man to head it, but of the crop of black sportswriters now who would be the one? Bomani seems like the ideal right now. is young, his race analysis is more liberal and consistent, has put in work. dude even has the podcast or video streaming game experience etc. this is a great opportunity for him to be next level.
