Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jason Momoa talks here about which comic book writer he's been spending time with to prepare for the role of Aquaman, why this version of the character will have to differ from the comic books, and offers shooting updates on Aquaman and Justice League...

Appearing at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo this past weekend, Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa talked more about his role as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (it's still not clear whether he will be making little more than a cameo appearance or if he'll have a full on role in the highly anticipated 2016 movie). Regardless, he did warn fans in attendance that for his take on the character to fit into the DC Cinematic Universe established in Man of Steel, there are elements from the comic books which will need to be changed for the Atlantean hero to work on the big screen. "It has to be realistic and there's a lot of stuff in the comics that won't work on the screen," said Momoa. What exactly he's referring to remains to be seen of course!

For those of you worrying that his comments mean that this Aquaman will be drastically different to the source material, Momoa is turning to a good place for inspiration. "I've been hanging out with Geoff Johns and he's a beast. He reinvented the character with the new 52," said Momoa, before adding: "Like it or not, I'm the new [frick]ing Aquaman buddy." That's obviously a message for the haters, many of whom have not been happy about the changes to the King of the Seas' appearance. Finally, the actor revealed that Justice League is currently around a year away from shooting. Aquaman meanwhile won't go in front of cameras until 2018. What do you think?

think he gonna kill the role...he'll be able to display the attitude arthur has that people sleep on....

on a side note: something he said is something about comic, action, etc. movies that has alway rubbed me the wrong way...why is that everything has to be 'realistic'?....why is that adults have such a huge problem accepting shyt as 'fantasy'?....you tell kids some shyt aint real, they're like cool and keep it moving, but not adults....it always has to make sense and be 'realistic' to them, even if it is something based off fantasy/non-real things, i.e. comic book characters....when i hear people say shyt like 'how can taht happen? that's not realistic', i always think/repsond: it's based on characters that arent real, so why does it matter?....i only say that cause i think people's obsession with making shyt 'realistic' holds things back...

This dude is on the cusp of being the next big action guy...

If I'm the rock I am signing up for every fukking action movie that any "black enough" guy can play cause Momoa going to have that shyt on smash when this shyt makes bank...

I actually need it to make bank cause the only Aquaman film I could stomach is a film where a guy is playing the character like he is going to play the character

:leon:

There were people mad that he's Aquaman? I honestly had no idea. :meh:

As long as he puts in work who cares who plays him? :manny:
I like the casting cause I like Jason Momoa, but he looks nothing like Aquaman.

A lot of people were saying he looked like he should be playing Namor from Marvel.

But oh well.

I think he's going to kill it :yeshrug:
