Nah bro, they were 28th in the league at opponent 3 point percentage with Kidd as the coach, they gave up 38% from three, bad teams were shooting lights out against them because Kidd's defensive scheme was absolutely retarded. Since he's been fired they have changed the way they defend the 3, small sample size but in those 8 games they have managed to go from 28th in the league to 12th in the league at opponent 3 point percentage, and teams are shooting 26% from three since Kidd got the axe. That's unsustainable but they should now be among the league leaders at defending the 3 and be around 32-33%.
There was no reason for them to be so bad defensively, other than a coach who was too stupid to see that giving up corner threes wasn't a good idea.
