I regret I wasn’t a purobreh in the era to see Prime Raw unfiltered Shinsuke :mjcry:

Would've been funny reading you either love or hate the first version of Nakamura (bland and uninsteresting as fukk for the most part) and then going :krs: :ohhh: :blessed: as we all did once he discovered Mexican coke and became Swagamura.

The NOAH feud :mjcry: it's a travesty that's the last meaningful "rivalry" New Japan had with another promotion. A lot of cool matchups and was the real birth of Okada as the next Ace in the making. We all realized he had next after his couple of matches during that feud :wow:

Misawa's last good-great performance at the Tokyo Dome against Nakamura and Goto. He was gone 6 months later :to:

His King of Strong Style heel run was what got me back into NJ. Was easily the most interesting thing happening in wrestling. Always interesting to remember that Strong Style Revivalist Naka was like a two year run before swagamura. I can't remember when he started dripping. I felt like it happened so slowly and gradually.

The NOAH war had so many good matches. Shout out Sugi for sending Okada was the boy the prophecy spoke of and trying to murder him before it was too late.

It started after his 2011 CMLL excursion I believe, and it was like a year long transformation. If you look at him between August 2011 and August 2012, you get two very different perspectives on what the Nakamura character is. Personally, I think his 2011 is kind of underrated, as he was having some excellent matches around that time (I'm thinking specifically of his title matches with Tanahashi, as well as the G1 Final vs Naito). But it's gotten overshadowed by everything he's done from 2012 onward, so nobody really revisits how fukking good and consistent he was this year.

And agreed with both of you on the NOAH stuff. I specifically remember liking Go a HELL of a lot more in NJPW than I did in NOAH at the time, to the point that I was hoping against hope that he'd make the jump and get away from NOAH's slowly sinking ship.
