You know what devalues the IWGP Heavyweight Title though? shytty ass booking were folks barely make it to one defense before passing it on. And I'm not just talking about Naito. Think of Tanahashi beating Omega at WK 13 only to lose it to Jay White in his first defense who loses it in his first defense to Okada.

Okada is the only wrestler since 2013 to have reigns with more than 3 successful title defenses. That's 7 years of Okada being booked as the only champ that matters. No one but Gedo is to blame for devaluing that belt.

The more I see Goto being treated like a high-end jobber in tag matches the more I wish it was him that turned. Heel Goto in Bullet Club (Samurai Club? Dishonor Club?) would've actually brought the legitimacy that they are attempting to get with EVIL.

But if it had to be someone from LIJ than yeah, SANADA's story writes itself and Shingo has all the presence and charisma that EVIL does not.
