yeah i feel ya. i don't mind waiting since I'm not tryna be up at like 3 in the morning watching the whole show anyways. and yeah i agree that having Rocky Romero there helps. Don't think I know Chris Charlton but I'm only a casual fan so maybe I've heard him before and just not noticed.
He's the nerdy sounding white dude you've probably heard that does their translating most of the time.
He's actually a pretty good NJPW historian, and adds a ton of context to stuff. There'll be times that he'll concisely break down two wrestlers' history with each other in the span of an entrance.
A good example is when he explained that Ibushi's finisher is called Kamigoye because he wants to surpass Nakamura (and Tanahashi, but that isn't the point here), someone he supposedly views as a god.
Kelly's great at selling a moment in a match and getting heels over as pieces of shyt, but he just plain doesn't have the cultural and historical knowledge Charlton does.
