Big Japan 2/11/20 Korakuen Hall show
BJW 2020.02.11.flv

Tajiri & Party Boys vs Shinobu, Kazuki Hashimoto & Kosuke Sato

Fun tag, specially the final couple of minutes with Kosuke and Yoshino, letting the young kid shine and try to go for the upset.

Takuya Nomura, Yuji Okabayashi, Ryuichi Kawakami, Kazumi Kikuta & Yoshiki Inamura vs Daichi Hashimoto, Hideyoshi Kamitani, Ryota Hama, Yasufumi Nakanoue & Jake Lee

:banderas: the normal fun 6 man tag formula gets four more people and it actually works. Guys like Lee and Okabayashi barely show up, but the few minutes the were in it was really fun (good pairings in Lee/Kawakami and Yuji/Nakanoue). Like last year's build up to Nomura vs Okabayashi, this is alll about setting the stage for the Young Gawd and Daichi to sell people on their upcoming title match. And they pull it off. Nomura is just fukking magic every time he gets the chance to show what's he's made off @Scottie Drippin @SubZeroDegrees

Yuya Aoki vs Fuminori Abe - Jr Title match

 Abe's biggest match in his young career and it's against Big Japan's 2nd biggest promising star (after Nomura). This was as hard hitting as you are gonna get in a Junior's title match in practically any promotion, Abe is a damn pitbull attacking the champ and not letting him breathe. There's no selling that bothered me but again, it's a Junior's style match so I was expecting it and considering the leg work involved, I've seen much, much worse. To be honest, I haven't seen Korakuen this excited for a Jr match outside of New Japan in a long ass time. I hope Abe is back all year long, dude is must see every single time.

Daisuke Sekimoto & Kohei Sato vs Yankee Two Kenju (Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto) - Tag Titles match

:blessed: :blessed: I love it when deathmatch guys show they can have dope regular matches. The first 6 minutes or so are pretty standard tag action with both teams trying to isolate one opponent, with the smaller guy (Kodaka) ending up having to fight from beneath while the other two bully him. Once Miyamoto gets the hot tag this gets into a higher gear, Yuko pulls off some nice moves, makes things flow and transitions to the best part of the match: Yankee's trying to figure out how to beat Sekimoto. It's an awesome game of chess against a beast that leads to a pretty dramatic finishing stretch. LOVED Sato and Daisuke failing to pull off the double german suplex and the comeback Isami and Yuko mount to get us to end. This was really fukking fun, dope tag match more than worth a look @TheGodling @3Rivers @Legal @PlayerNinety_Nine

Awesome show :myman:

Daisuke Sekimoto vs Chris dikkinson II - GCW The Art of War 2/5/2020
GCW The Art Of War 2020 (2020.02.05) – смотреть видео онлайн в Моем Мире | Андрей Бочаров (starts at the 22 minute mark)

A notch or two below the amazing match they had last year. It doesn't have the drama nor the crazy visuals but it's still two dudes beating the shyt out of each other. dikkinson is less Davey Richardsy with his intensity than in the Okabayashi match, which is appreciated, and his focus on the leg of Daisuke was great. Thing was, it didn't really lead to anything more than dikkinson just trying to get the upperhand. Because of that, and Sekimoto's not wanting to make the leg a major part of the match - he sold enough, but he didn't make it a big part of the match like dikkinson was trying to do -, this lacks real drama. The good thing is that it's only 14 minutes and they don't stop hitting each other so it's still a fun match to watch. @TheGodling

EDIT: It seems Mutoh is out of money and sponsors, Wrestle-1 is taking a hiatus :lupe:

I'm surprised they've lasted this long, to be honest. Same could be said about other companies, like Zero-1.

If those NXT Japan rumors are true, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the base. Of course that would mean the rest of the Japanese business would be pissed at Mutoh for selling at to a foreigner.

Final: Block A winner vs Block B winner

Block B kinda has a defacto semifinal in Lee vs Davey Boy Jr. I liked they saved the young kids match for the end though, should be in front of hot Korakuen crowd. Block A is wide open.

Almost every day has at least 1 match that sounds interesting. The loss of Nomura hurts Bock B a fukk ton though.

If those NXT Japan rumors are true, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the base. Of course that would mean the rest of the Japanese business would be pissed at Mutoh for selling at to a foreigner.

Good theory.

I doubt people would be that pissed off though. When Tenryu "sold out" to SWS the only one that really held a grudge was Baba, which was understandable. At this point Mutoh been doing whatever he wants and been living off booking free lancers for years. Him getting another gig shouldn't ruffle that many feathers.

R-Truth dancing over the Triple Crown :damn:

AJPW: the house that AJ Styles built :damn:

Kento Miyahara being the Miz's rookie :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn::damn:

Do All Japan Pro-Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) team up? The reputable magazine Tokyo Sports reports today that the two leagues could merge.

It has long been known that WWE is trying to gain a foothold in Japan. In addition to occasional shows a year, the league is planning to establish a permanent branch in Japan, similar to how they did with NXT UK in the UK. It is certain that an attempt was made to buy Stardom when the league was on sale last fall. The same applies to pro-wrestling NOAH, which were surprisingly sold to Cyber Agent earlier this year.

Yahoo! Japan also reports that Jun Akiyama will shortly travel to the US to meet with Triple H there. At the moment it is officially said that Akiyama will visit the Performance Center to work as a guest trainer. In fact, there have been discussions between the league officials since June 2019. It could be a merger of the largest wrestling league in the world and the second oldest Japanese league!

In the newspaper interview with Yahoo! Japan informed Akiyama that he has a very special relationship with the WWE. In 1990, when he was still an amateur wrestler, he attended the Tokyo Dome Show by NJPW, AJPW, and WWF. He particularly remembered the Tag Team Match with Jumbo Tsuruta on one side and Rick Martel on the other. He now wants to give regular guest training sessions in the Performance Center and learn how things work at WWE.

All Japan President Takeshi Fukuda said that he was pleased that All Japan was valued worldwide and that the invitation to Akiyama underlined this. However, no decisions have yet been made about future cooperation with WWE. He hopes that the upcoming visit will have a positive impact on both groups.

Yahoo! Japan concludes its report, noting that a merger of the two leagues would lead to immeasurable profits and that a third power would emerge in Japanese wrestling alongside Bushiroad (NJPW and Stardom) and Cyber Agent (NOAH and DDT).
