There are still a shocking amount of tickets left for the Long Beach show. These fools are going to do 2500-3000 at The Pyramid and look stupid because they couldn't be bothered to actually promote the show properly.

Like, I'd have gone, but I'm both incredibly busy since school's starting up and I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE CARD WAS UNTIL 2 DAYS AGO.

What is this company doing in the US? :mindblown:
Not just that, but ticket prices were ridiculous. They should've only had 5 different price ranges.

>Okada: But the one thing I will say, and I felt this about the Kenny vs Cody match (at Strong Style Evolved), since it is on a New Japan show, I’m not a fan of putting together cards that you could normally see in America. To be honest, Cody vs Kenny, that’s a match you could see on an American show.

>— And it did happen in ROH. What you’re saying is you want distinctly New Japan cards in America.

>Okada: Right. Cards that make you say ‘now this is NJPW’. To me, I think we should be showing the American fans what this thing called New Japan Pro Wrestling is.

...

>Of course, now the LA Dojo is going strong and there are plenty of other things in the works. How do you see the expansion into America progress from here?

>Okada: Like I said before, I really want to show the American fans what New Japan really is. So I’d love to have Okada versus Kenny there, but what I really want to show America is Okada versus Tanahashi. When, I don’t know, but..

>— You want to take that match to the US.

>Okada: A few years ago when we were in Chicago with ROH, we just stood across from one another and the crowd were chanting ‘holy sh*t!’

>— Ah yes! Tanahashi has told that story.

>Okada: That was all before NJPW World was as popular as it is now. For the foreign fans that one encounter was all they got of Okada versus Tanahashi, so just once I want to have that match and have the fans come home really feeling ‘I saw New Japan Pro Wrestling’.

>— It’s exciting just to imagine how the crowd would receive that match.

>Okada: Right. Just something I’d like to happen sometime.

dope, which section did you get? My boy bought the LIJ one in SF at the g1 special. That Halloween one looks nice.
They brought it from Japan? Nice. I want a shirt where the main logo centered, hopefully they bring it.

Don’t remember the number, but I’m sitting in the next section where the hardcam is. I think it’s the HC area, but it’s on the “heels” side of the entrance.

At this point I don't put it past them to book a filler Korakuen-like card for MSG but I still hold some hope that they will be smarter than that. 20,000 people and the Garden in NYC demand more care than all the shows they've done in the US combined, and I think they know that. Question is if they will give a shyt if tickets sell well in advance - which one would think they will, probably selling out or having 15k tickets sold weeks in advance - and they decide to give another show filled with gaijins and unimportant matches.

If for some reason tickets are selling slow, I think ROH (via The Elite guys) will try to push for big matchups, will they will probably get, given how easy is to sell the importance of this show to a company like New Japan. But I don't see a scenario were seats aren't selling like hot cakes right off the bat, before a card or big matches are announced.

The MSG show is a huge opportunity to steal the thunder from WWE in a real, important way. A lot of interesting shyt could happen if they put on a big G-1 level type of show, it's on them to take advantage of this chance.

They also risk a lot imo, if they put on another slightly above average event and NXT (and Mania or the RAW after) steals the weekend as the best show.

Main event for MSG is White/Gedo vs Okada and his new manager Delirious

Gedo & White vs Tanahashi & Billy Gunn with Okada hanging from a shark cage above the ring. If Billy isn't enough to garner US attention then Jim Cornette will be booked as special enforcer :krs:
