Nah, Ki could never do this. His lack of charisma and size was a ceiling on him. Kota can do this because he went to NJ, bulked up, got booked as a legit heavyweight, and put on a few classics that drew incredibly well (he, as well as Kenny, was a proven draw in DDT anyway, but doing it on the biggest platform counts for something).

Low Ki could never be a main eventer anywhere other than the American indies. That being said, if he wasn't an a$$hole, he'd be a NJPW regular and Jr ace while barnstorming the US and UK indies, basically like AJ was doing just on a slightly lower level.

Very few people could have the whole game waiting for them like Kota is doing right now

Ya'll need to watch the Kamaitachi/Dragon Lee matches from CMLL. They've been trying to murder each other for almost two years now. Some of the most ridiculous bumps and spots you can imagine. It's what got people hype for his return to NJ. His learning expedition in Mexico was a tremendous success.
