It feels like these past few years and in the upcoming few years we are seeing the "Fall of the Old Guard" transition era of a lot of wrestlers from every country and federation. Industry gonna look strange and new within the next 5 years.

With Naito completely broken down, no realistic invader from Japan that could do a run and the sabotage they've done to the new generation, there really is not a lot more that can be done than giving a "thank you" title reign to a guy like Sabre.

The question is what they do next. They could stretch this title run for a while so they can finally give the younger kids a real push or they can hotshot it for WK/WD weekend.

In retrospect, Mox's title run was completely fukking useless. It didn't elevate anybody, it was mostly done for shows in the U.S and in the end it was just a way to give back the belt to Naito, who was so broken down he couldn't even finish the G-1 :dead:

I think they were hoping Mox could help out with the US shows and it didn’t even do that. Covid killed their momentum and Mercedes’ injury killed their chances to rise back up too.

If that's the case then they deserve the bad position they are in right now, they should never put international business above Japan.

I mean, they tried to run the Toyota Arena, which is a 10k+ arena. Even with Mox they still didn’t do good numbers. Now they’re going back to the Pyramid.
And that's just dumb on New Japan's part. Instead of worrying about a 10k arena in the U.S they have to worry about the 5k,7k arenas en Japan and Sumo Hall, all of which have been hurting since the pandemic. Their promoting and their booking have had no direction for too damn long and Mox's reign was just another prime example of that :mindblown:
