He gets love around NE, him and Hightower are becoming a very legit line backing core I actually liked when they had Ayers in there as well but he's seen less time since Chandlers been back.
Chandler is so suspect against the run. If they get to the bowl and face the Hawks...they're going to run right at him.

Hightower had a great year, but I can kinda get his snub because of competition at the position...but Jamie point blank had some of the best overall numbers + impact for a LB this year....his snub is mind-boggling.
I saw an INT Geno threw against the Pats and wondered why. It was the right read but Collins is so freakishly athletic that he dropped 15 yards back in coverage like it was nothing to get the pick. I was the only one in Met Life looking at him on the replay like :ohhh: when everyone else was shytting on Geno

This dude can be a special player. Can cover TEs, RBs....incredible on film. When he drops back into coverage out of the OLB position.... :scust:

Beli has him doing everything. He's going to cause the Colts fits because of his versatility

+Dap +rep.

Jamie is a fukking beast. It is mind boggling what this kid can do.

Beli on Jamie..

An energetic Belichick raved about linebacker Jamie Collins, whose contributions to the Patriots in his second season have been invaluable.

“Look at the Jamie Collinses, it’s not like there’s like two or three dozen of them in the draft every year,” Belichick said. “We’re lucky to have one.”

“There’s Lawrence Taylor, the prototype for an outside linebacker, where’s the next Lawrence Taylor?” Belichick said. “These guys don’t grow on trees.”

“But, there’s not a lot of players at that level who have that kind of -- defensive end to safety to quarterback in high school -- I would say looking at him coming out of college you wouldn’t say he was overly proficient in any of those areas,” Belichick said. “But, I think you could see a lot of improvement in his play over the course of the year.

“I think you could see that kind of progression, but then every year they either moved him or had a staff change with a scheme change.”

“[Jamie] has certainly grown in these two years,” Belichick said. “And again, he’s a smart player. He’s handled the communication things we’ve asked him to do. He has a lot of assignments.”

Bill went and work him out personally, and over ruled his scouts on drafting him(This has not work out well sometimes). Dude is a fukking stud.

:salute: @NYC Rebel for recognizing. His emergence means Jerod Mayo is done here, too pricey and injury prone. IMO Collins is the 2nd best defender besides Revis. This year was kind of a coming out Party, next year I'm hoping it's his monster season. He can Cover everyone on the Field.

Breh, Jerod is not done with the Pats. Jerod is a beli's guy. And I get it, everything points to Jerod getting let go. But Jerod is a guy, who Tom Brady and Mat light sat on stage with, a couple years ago and answered the question about who is Belichick favourite Player.

And both Blurted out Jerod Belichick. Jerod is not going anywhere. I think he will restructure, but Jerod is Beli's boy. Bill loves Jerod, loves him.

We will see tho.

Dion Jordan could have been Jamie, if the Dolphins knew how to use Dion.. :mjcry:

Well not as good as Jamie, but Miami had know idea how to use Dion. And most teams would not have known how to use Jamie.

He is under contract through 2017 and 2015 it's the first season that cutting him will result in cap savings. I know we don't want to cut him. We love him. He's Bill Belichick's favorite Patriot after Tedy Bruschi. No matter where he goes, He's a Patriot for life. But He comes with cap hits of $10.3 million, $10.1 million, and $9.2 million in each of the next three seasons, carrying to his 31st birthday. Contracts are supposed to be for future production, not for the 12 total games he's been active over the past two seasons, we could ask to restructure with a heavy-incentive contract like Wilfork's. Vince was almost gone and Mankins refused to restructure. We'll see.
