Harden is just getting warmed up and harden has 2 years left, kawhis situation was different

Kawhi was a free agent after the season when he got traded to Toronto, while Harden still has 2 years left on his deal.

Houston could get more for Harden based on the fact that he has more years left on his deal. Harden can't say no in where he ends up as no trade clauses don't exist in the NBA. If he chooses to sit out willingly, then that's an extra year added to his contract.

That's why Houston has all the leverage as he's not sitting out the season. The moment he tries to "fake an injury" will be the moment the NBA comes calling his phone especially since people know what he's trying to do.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I don't think the Rockets knew they wanted out in March.

I don't remember that split up talk either, not from the organization itself. Fans/media more than anything when they saw how extreme they got with small ball.
I know we supposed to think the media is just pulling stuff out their ass... They are not. It's not a secret, that when certain people say shyt, that they actually know already and are playing coy. It was said in March, it was definitely said in the bubble, it was said when D Antoni didn't resign and they wanted him on incentives, and it was said soon as the season ended.

SAS was even talking about Brooklyn months ago. They know that shyt. These players want it known but want to hide their hands at the same time.

Swap out Turner for Sabonis and add more young players/picks into the deal. Oladipo is expiring and Lamb is coming off an ACL. I'd rather Sabonis anyways as I don't trust that Levert can remain healthy enough long term as he hasn't been since college.

Honestly, I think that Houston's main hesitancy in doing the deal with Brooklyn.

No way Indy lets Sabonis go. Contract is way too nice.

Houston would be a fool to part with Harden for anything less than someone with "star potential".
Levert could potentially be it, but he's too injury prone to reach his full potential. He's guaranteed to miss at least 20-30 games a season.

That's why they should put in the call to Philly about Simmons even if they don't want to deal with Morey. Put the personal feelings aside and do business is how I see it :yeshrug:

I agree. That trade makes the most sense. :yeshrug:

With that being said, I think Brooklyn just doesn't want to hamstring their cap by essentially have three max contracts on the roster as it limits flexibility going forward. I also believe that he just wants to play out the last two years and see what happens even if he's traded to Brooklyn, which would make me wary of trading for him without a long term extension.

He's still under contract, so he has no say so in where he is traded. He still has this year and next before he is able to opt out of his contract.

He really doesn't have the leverage that he thinks he does. The Brooklyn deal just isn't appealing especially considering how injury prone Levert is.
I dont know why yall still say this. Its like yall love to ignore reality.

The reality is he's still under contract for two more years. So he fake an injury all he wants, but it's just going to add time to his contract.

It's not like he will be a free agent after the season. That's the main difference between him and Kawhi. There's literally nothing stopping them from trading him to Indy or NO if they feel it gives them the best value. Kawhi pulled an even worse stunt and it still didn't get him where he wanted to go (at the time).

That potential Brooklyn deal is terrible and you can try to spin it any way you want. Levert has been injury prone since high school and is guaranteed to miss a good chunk of the season. Houston has to make whatever trade they feel gives them the best value regardless of where it is.
