I HARDLY ever take the favorite. That's one thing that I don't do. I take the team or praise a team in which I believe has the best shot at whatever I'm measuring them against (whether that be a simple game or how far they make it through the playoffs). There seems to be a misconception about me being a fan of every team - since you have so many homers on this board, you can't praise any other team without them accusing you of be a fan of them. Why can't I just be the nikka who sees value in other teams? Why do I have to be a fan after I praise a team or give them a good outlook on the season? Is every poster suppose to just talk up their own team and talk down every other team? What about being an actual fan of a team instead of always taking the favorite becuz you know your ego can be fed by being right. I'm a Rockets fan. They are not a perfect team but I am with them in any game. When they were down 3-1 to the Clippers last year I didn't bow out on my team. Down in Game 6 by 19 I didn't bow out on my team.
And I don't hold that against you, so you should keep faith in your team. However, if I or anybody makes a post about what could potentially happen to your team, and outlines the flaws, it shouldn't be met with the generic 'you don't know what you're talking about", "you're just a hater", "you don't watch Rockets games" rhetoric. The GS series I knew would be tough but I rooted for my team I didn't try to set myself up to look good becuz most basketball fans knew GSW was the better team. I stayed with the Rockets becuz that's my squad and if they played to their highest level they would have a chance to steal a few games and maybe things would fall their way. It didn't though they lost the series and I had to accept the backlash on the coli. I didn't neg motherfukkers (at least I don't remember).
I negged you because you put up strawmen arguments (trying to insinuate something that I don't do), not because you're a Harden stan. Anybody that wants to have a reasonable conversation about his game - I have no problem with. The problem is, there aren't too many dudes on this board who actually look at his game for what it is. Again, he's developed into one of the better players in this league, and although despite the effectiveness and efficiency of his game still heavily reliant upon the calls he gets, he still has improved parts of his skillset. The main thing for me is, he's still at his core the same player he was when he first arrived and I don't know if that will ever change. He still isn't a player you can rely on in the postseason as your #1 option, because of his inconsistency (failing to play up to the standard in all three of his postseason trips as a Rocket), limited ability in playing through bad stretches and being one-two trick pony. But when people point out that you go extra hard on Harden and try to refute your claims and you don't agree with them you wanna neg somebody or start sending insults.
