Gunn would still have his job if it wasn't for the conservative journalist resurfacing the old tweets. Majority of people like myself didn't know of Gunn's past tweets, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten the Guardians gig in the first place.

People will run through their date's last 3 years of facebook posts and tweets but we gonna act like one of the biggest media entities in the world isn't doing a character-based background check?

It's wild how politics are coloring everything now more than ever.

the first line of my OG post is literally Gunn is a sicko. I'm not defending his old tweets and there's nothing ok about them. Disney slipped up by hiring him in the first place, this is all on them.

no topic should be off limits if you are a comedian. at the time of these tweets he was a screenwriter who wrote bizarre shyt with comedic overtones, and he still has a lot of comedy in his work, often times dark. again, i stand by the opinion that had these actually been even remotely funny he'd have more sympathy. people reaching and thinkin that by posting dumb shyt like that, he actually wants to or does fukk kids are insane. i mean, could that be? anything is possible, but that's not usually how twitter "jokes" work.
