Look i get it. It aint just black americans, all americans tend to think america is the center of the world.
This argument cant be won by any side because it is like arguing about whose momma's food tastes better. You arent as important as you think, sorry.
America is the center of the world. You’re on an American based website now. I can assure you the vast Majority of AA’s or Americans in general don’t go to or give a fukk about foreign websites:yeshrug:

the funny thing is that adele is british. The same people who enslaved and colonized Jamaicans:mjlol:

Bruh you talkin to a brick wall. It's like trying to talk about or discuss race with white people. Disgusting and disingenuous.

I might get baited into every now and again then I just stop. We battle everybody over the simplest shyt. The crazy part is we don't even be bothering people like that.

this dude is completely re-writing history. You’re really going to sit there and act like Chicago- born American Gil Scott-Heron didnt come out with Pieces of a Man. Winter in America - the Revolution will not be televised. Was out before all that?? He was literally putting poetry to beats

I’m a female and even I know that much- thanks to my father. You nonAAs are starting to argue like women
Wowwwwwww- y’all are really trying to claim everything. Bachata your way out of common sense and historical significance.
:mjlol::francis:

Oh ok.... so Gil-Scott Heron is the founder and pioneer of hip hop...hmmm, i wonder why no rapper acknowledges that:troll:

So Kool Herc, Bambatta, Zulu Nation, Grandmaster Flash and all of the other pioneers were just a myth.:mjlol:

It took one white woman to divide the Diaspora. One white woman.....

We're finished
:mjlol:
nah

maybe you nikkas should quit this fantastical fantasy pan african wakanda shyt, and be realistic. In the fact that no one is really on this pan african BS and everyone is focus on themselves.

Quick side note, NONE of you, I repeat NONE of you are as important or as influential as you think you are. I know y’all default to it to feel better about yourselves. But please understand this
Yet your people in europe and all over mimick us to come across as more imporant. We dont have to feed ourselves lies, real life confirms what we say:unimpressed:

Graffiti started with the gangs of the 50s-60s

and spoken word was also started with American born Brian Jackson who collaboed with the above mentioned Gil Scott Heron out of Fort Greene, Crown Heights Brooklyn at Erasmus Hall High School, Where he soon linked up with other musicians at an HBCU- Lincoln University around 1969.

Rapping already existed. Trying to say Jamaicans invented or are responsible for it is errorneous. Same with dj'ing. Like black people werent already doing it. You running to Kool Herc and Bambatta but jumping over Grandmaster Flowers (Jonathon Cameron Flowers) was a DJ from Brooklyn, New York. One of the earliest DJs to mix records together in sequence,[1] Flowers was known as one of the earliest pioneers of hip hop. Flowers was involved in the disco and funk scene and used to hold block parties. Flowers is cited as having a "formative influence" on hip hop DJs[2] such as Grandmaster Flash[3] and Afrika Bambaataa in the mid-1970s. In 1969, Grandmaster Flowers opened for James Brown at Yankee Stadium. Although an inspiration to many of hip hop's early greats - he is highly respected by those he influenced - Flowers himself never attained the heights of his successors in hip hop culture.

Anyone should be offended by something they created being credited to comeone else. And as far as I know Grand Master Flash isn't West Indian.

:snoop: STOP IT :snoop:

Grandmaster Flowers literally hated hip-hop this rewriting history has to stop
he was a Disco DJ and one of the best in his heyday
did Herc and Flash admire, get tips, observe his DJ’ing skills and use them for their own = absolutely
but let’s be clear he did not like hip-hop and he should never be considered a hip-hop pioneer

may he rest in peace
